Lonely is the Night, can't endure it away from you. Lonely is the Night, After wanting the day with you. Reality, can never be, when we are far a-part And dreams are cruel. I'm such a fool, with an aching heart! Lonely is the Night, and my lips are a-fire for you. Lonely is the Night, and my senses desire you. It's plain to see, that destiny will leave me unfulfilled with-out you and I'm Lonely in the Night, All alone without your love.

about

Classic Salsa, Mambo, and Boogaloo meet Contemporary Latin. The cool sound of vibraphone electrifies dancers and captures the Latin music from the smoky clubs in the Boogaloo era with a modern twist. A favorite of mambo/salsa dancers everywhere.

VibraSÓN's music respects and honors the old -classic salsa from the Boogaloo era of the 1960s- while adding a contemporary feel to the sound, with dancers in mind. The vibraphone-centric format echoes the sounds of an era of Latin Music where big bands gave way to smaller and hipper club-sized ensembles. The smoothness of the vibraphone embraces the intimacy of a compact group that connects with its surroundings in clubs with dancers practically on top of the stage. Swing is king in these settings, and VibraSÓN glorifies the tightness of a band made up of percussion instruments, adding the vocal character of modern songs.

The band was founded by Jake Jacobs, a Salsa dancer/instructor for over 20 years in the Bay Area, whose father was a pianist, and uncle played xylophone/vibes. Veteran musicians, Marco Diaz on piano, Saul Sierra on bass, along with experienced percussionists Carlos Caro and Julio Perez bring a crew of players long seasoned in diverse styles of Latin music. Vibraphonist Charlie Barreda was heavily influenced by Cal Tjader, a Bay Area legend and role model for many generations of Latin players. Multi-percussionist, Christian Pepin, from a legendary musical family in New York, gives a contemporary sound to the rhythm section. Finally, Luis Morales, with a rich past singing salsa, R&B, and alternative rock rounds out the group. VibraSÓN brings traditional sounds of Latin Music together with modern rhythms, soulful vocals, and adventurous solos.

Special guest musicians include Bay Area legend and Rap artist Deuce Eclipse, with his unique take on the message of Englishman in New York. A young and rising star Dan Neville plays vibraphone on Freeway. Another young star Erick Peralta, who has taken the Bay Area by storm, plays keys on Latin Vibe Tuesdays and Riete (he also arranged Riete), along with Steve Herrera on baby bass, a player who contributes to several top bands. The versatile and talented Juan Luis Perez, who composed the song Riete for Jake sings the lead on that song, along with contributing to the Coros, and the amazing Christelle Durandy (Lonely is the Night Bolero) and Manny Martinez (Latin Vibe Tuesdays, Intro to Llego VibraSON!) contributed to vocals and color on the recording. Karl Perazzo, the famed percussionist with the Santana Band for 20 years, provided help on the production and several backing tracks on guiro/maracas. This recording is truly an all-star collaboration.

Llegó VibraSÓN is a revival of the old, mixed with sounds of the new to produce an alluring sound that people crave. Jake plays for the dancers and they appreciate it. How could he not?
